Holy Cow!

I will admit I like to win sometimes.  Competitions.  Contests.  Drawings.  Things that require virtually no skill.  Things that require a lot of skill...

Last month the school had a Box Top competition.  This was NOT one of the things I felt a need to win.  I mean, I'm all about helping the school earn money ten cents at a time, but I wasn't one of the teachers having her students call home to get more Box Tops.

Nevertheless, the kids in my class (and their moms...) went a little crazy.
The sixth grade was looking like a sure win with over 900 from their class alone.

UNTIL....
Friday, at the last minute, one of the moms brought hundreds and hundreds to school.
She was all about the win.
And so was my class.

What could have possessed everyone to go to extremes?
Chick-fil-A.  That's right, Nikki.  Chick-fil-A.  Catered lunch by them for the winner.

And so, with over 1,300 Box Tops, we got a special visit from the cow him/herself during math one day.  Our class was bursting with chicken nuggets, brownies, and lemonade.

And all I could do was count my blessings that I wasn't the poor mauled, mobbed, harassed cow.

When I snuck this picture below, my students DID suggest I get the cow's number because "he seemed interested."

(If only they'd known "he" was some poor girl who was not making enough per hour to have to sign all those autographs for my class....)

I would post the kids' pictures (SO FUNNY!) but I technically can't, so here I am with the cow.  :)
